Y’all, some of you remember Kathleen Dames from her years on the North Shore. She was all humble, sitting on the couch and chillin’ at Yarns in the Farms…. Well now she is a big New York City KNITWEAR DESIGNER, and she is coming to visit with her lovely designs.
Come say hello to Kathleen Saturday, May 16, 10-12. Her trunk show will be at the shop until May 26. Y’all come on!

Our friend Julia Farwell-Clay has a new book on the shelf, with knitwear designs inspired by Cape Ann’s Folly Cove designers. This group of women collaborated to hand print textiles from the 30s to the 60s, and the patterns have a lovely vintage esthetic. Classic Elite Yarns provides lovely yarn support to these sumptuous knits.
Meet Julia on Saturday, March 21, 10 – 12
“From Folly Cove”

Come and see the beautiful designs and get inspired!

Y’all been hearing rumors about some new gal in town, Lurlene. And you are wondering who is this gal?
Lurlene is a 1963 Airstream trailer. She has seen better days, as she was abandoned in an Adirondack field for years. Poor baby. Even Chucho was sad for her. So we took her home and are loving her up.
Here she is after a deluxe spa exfoliation treatment.
Lurlene is getting a makeover: facelift, new guts, the works.
When she comes out of surgery, she will be a traveling yarn shop, visiting underserved populations across the northeast.
YARNstream. Coming to a roadside near you. Stay tuned.

This just in:
Five notorious Beverly hooligans, in the glare of mid-day sun, crossed the Kernwood bridge into Salem. They brazenly carried a ladder. They were trailed by an investigator and a bomb sniffing dog. They proceeded to BOMB Felt St with Kool-aid dyed felt squares. Then they escaped by leaping off a high bridge and disappearing into the Danvers River.
If you see these hooligans, do not approach. They are armed with knitting needles. Call 978-927-2108.

Y’all, this Polar Vortex is killing me. And I am safe and warm in front of the fire.
I read about this initiative in Ontario, where some kind soul is leaving scarves draped artfully about the city, for anyone who is cold, tagged with a small note saying this….
And I thought, ouch, scarves take a long time to knit! And hats more fun.
So, EVERY THURSDAY MORNING anyone who wants to have some tea and company and free yarn for knitting hats for those in need, come on down to the shop and cozy up on the couch and we will knit hats. Then we can label them and yarn bomb the world with them. Or at least Beverly. Come with your ideas and creative juices!
I am not sure where we will yarn bomb with our hats, but yarn bomb we will!

My sweet nephew… just finished conservatory… now pondering either law school or Musicology PhD. Hmmm…
Looks swell in his new TIMBERLINE jacket, made in CEY Majestic Tweed. What a cutie patootie.
